The landscape feature that strikes me most as I acclimate to our new neighborhood is trees pruned to make way for wires. Each closely-shaved tree evokes an eagle spreading mighty wings or a hand forming the ‘V’ peace sign. Unlike Winston Churchill’s formation of the latter, though, eyes draw to the negative space between the “fingers.”
