Petite Bourgeois

A fundamental question remains unanswered in a Louise Bourgeois exhibit at New York’s Jewish Museum.

On a recent visit to New York’s Jewish Museum, I viewed every artwork and read each label in “Louise Bourgeois, Freud’s Daughter” (through Sept. 12) without learning whether the artist was born or identifies as Jewish. Given “Jewish” appears in the museum name, I continue to find this shocking.
